Titanium alloy fasteners are 13 categories, including titanium bolts, titanium screws, titanium studs, titanium nuts, titanium wood screws, titanium self-tapping screws, titanium washers, titanium rivets, titanium pins, titanium retaining rings, titanium link pairs and fastener-assembly parts. Titanium fasteners are an important general basic part. They play a decisive role in the industry and are called "the rice of industry".
The application of titanium alloy fasteners has the following advantages:
1. Low density.The density of titanium alloys is significantly less than that of steel materials, so titanium alloy fasteners are lighter than steel fastener materials.
2. High specific strength. Titanium alloy is a metal material with higher specific strength among common metal materials.
3. High melting point. The melting point of titanium alloy is significantly higher than that of steel materials, so the heat resistance of titanium alloy fasteners is better than that of steel fasteners.
4. The thermal expansion coefficient and elastic modulus are small.
5. Non-magnetic. The magnetic permeability of titanium alloy is very small and can almost be ignored. Therefore, titanium alloy fasteners are non-magnetic and can effectively prevent interference from magnetic fields.
6. Titanium alloy fasteners can be anodized and have various colors on the surface of the product.
The manufacturing of titanium alloy fasteners mainly includes three parts:
1. Plastic deformation. For example, upsetting, reducing diameter and rolling thread, etc.;
2. Surface strengthening. For example, strengthening of the transition zone between the bolt bearing surface and the straight rod, etc.;
3. Mechanical processing. For example, turning, milling and grinding, etc.
Titanium alloy fasteners mainly use three types of materials:
The first type is α-β two-phase alloy with low Mo equivalent, such as Ti-6Al-4V;
The second type is metastable β alloy, including βIII and Ti-44.5Nb in the United States;
The third type is α-β two-phase alloy with subcritical composition, such as BT16l in Russia.
Ti-6A1-4V is a medium-strength α-β two-phase titanium alloy with excellent comprehensive properties. It has a full range of semi-finished product specifications, including bars, forgings, thick plates, thin plates, profiles and wires. The alloy can operate at a temperature of up to 400°C for a long time and has been most widely used in the aviation and aerospace industries.
